The Story:
In 1997, Peter was brought in by the CEO as Site Architect to help
re-orient the company's pioneering content, community & commerce
site for Asian-Americans into a mainstream USA retailing site.
Results:
While page views and revenues grew significantly during 1997 holiday
season, financial market 'contagion' in the Channel A's predominant
fundraising sphere - Asia, led to staff defections, cash flow problems
and eventual closure in 1998.
